Jorge Posada apologized for not wanting to be in alignment with the New York Yankees, said on Sunday manager Joe Girardi

Jorge Posada apologized for not wanting to be in alignment with the New York Yankees, said on Sunday manager Joe Girardi after the order of the fallen star last night ended in a messy public spat with the directive.

The five-time All-Star was not in the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox lefty Jon Lester Boston, but was seen smiling in the locker room at Yankee Stadium and appeared to be relaxed.
Posada said he had a bad day on Saturday and was carried away in frustration. Responded calmly to the shrapnel of questions from reporters and then went to batting practice.
Girardi could have planned to let Posada on the bench on Sunday beyond the strange saga of the previous night. The switch-hitter, 39, has improved to 0-24 against lefties this season.
